Cancel production in puppet cities

Hi, is it possible to cancel something from the queue in a puppet city?
I love playing Venice, but in this game I miss queuing Manhattan project in Venice and a random puppet city decide to construct it... Veeeeeery slowly 😢

I think, if not now possible, the option to cancel from the queue some building in puppet (maybe paying the same price as investing) would be beneficial especially in these cases or in exclusive building (like polytechnic OR seminary, I think from EE mod).

What do you think?

Hi
Playing Rome I had all my puppet cities trying to build a Fornix as soon as it was possible (after I had just conquered another city state). Eventually one of them beat one of my own cities to it, which was quite bothering as it felt like a wasted one.
I would have loved to be able to cancel it…

Puppets won't build National Wonders already, but projects aren't specially handled.

This was so annoying

Probably there should be some option to preclude puppet cities from building wonders, or a way to cancel.

They can't do it. Fornix isn't defined as a wonder.

Yeah I agree, that shouldn't happen. I changed it in the code, in the next version puppets will no longer build projects that are limited in number.
Any chance to implement this in 4.22 (along with other bugfixes)? Having the best possible "final" version before the big update would be appreciated.

In general I agree about having the best possible final 2uc version, but this fix is a very minor one (I noticed later that it only affects Venice's puppets; the puppets of other civs weren't able to work on projects all along). Making a new version is always a bit of work, and we're quite close to the first 4uc release now, so I think it's fine if we include it only in the 4uc version.

I also would love to be able to cancel puppet city production if I don't like what they're building. I think the AI builds stuff in the wackiest order

Well, the point of puppets is that you can't choose what they build. If you want to control city production, annex the city.

as venice, how do i prevent my puppets from eating 1 aluminum for a spaceship factory+1 uranium for a nuclear power plant (or 1 aluminum for a different power plant if i invest in a different one first)? and leaving me down 20+ Aluminium that i wanted for jets

I thought that puppets couldn't build building with a resource requirement... as you would have to invest in it (as Venice) to forcefully launch the production. You should make some proposal at the next VP session.

I would propose :
  • Puppets can no longer build anything with a resource requirement as a baseline,
  • Venice can invest in resource buildings as per now,
  • Venician puppet should prioritize buildings that already were invested in : in case you invest on something that is cancelled due to resource shortage (following a pillaged tile or lost CS/City).

Normal puppets can't build any buildings with resource requirements, but Venice is an exception. It would be bad for Venice AI civs if their puppets couldn't build anything that need resources. I'm not sure if the AI is able to invest to switch production.
