Cannot connect to game server

I bought the game yesterday and it works just fine (despite using an ATI 9600xt, woo), the multiplayer worked fine, I played some games. Today, I can't log in or create a new account. When I try, it tells me that "The connection to the game browsing server has failed.". Yet my internet is working fine, messenger programs, websites, etc.

Anyone else had this problem/know how to fix it?

But the people I play with on another forum are playing right now.

So that can't be the problem.

Bump because I'm having the same problem. Doesn't matter whether I sign in with an existing gamespy account or try to create a new one.

Either I get Login Failed or Can't Connect to Game Server.

I am behind a Linksys BFSX41 Router/Firewall. I hesistate to put myself on the DMZ but I suppose I may have to.

Man, if I still can't play from behind a firewall/NAT router I'm going to be some kind of angry at Firaxis.

That's not the problem either, I thought the same thing. But then my friend came over and was able to connect to the game server while it was still doing the same for me. So it's got to be something with your computer specifically. And I have no clue as to what that could be. I've made a similar thread since day one, and not gotten anything, but I think that's because nobody knows how to fix it. I'm going to be sending an e-mail to both gamespy and the civ 4 support team, and hopefully one of them will give me an answer.

Mine fixed itself eventually, but anothe guy I know, who was playing fine before, is getting the error now.

I still have no clue what the hell would cause that.
