"Cannot display this video mode!"

I just installed Civ 3 complete and when I start it up my monitor goes black and says:
1: Analog Input
Cannot display this video mode

I updated my monitor driver (Dell 1905FP), but to no avail. I switched my resolution several different times and I get the same message.

Civ 3 comp worked fine on my old comp (700 mhz AMD, Win98, CRT monitor), but won't go on this one (Intel 2x 2.0 Ghz, XP, flat panel).
I'm sure it's an easy fix for you but I can't figure it out.

You'll probably need to manually set your video parameters. This post explains the different settings.

And if you don't have the appropriate .ini file, create a blank one. Civ will append as needed to the file.
