CANNOT Join a Game! Connection Failed! HELP!

Hi Everyone!
I keep getting the "Connection Failed..." message when I try to join a MP game. I know I have the correct IP for me and the host. . .I suspect it is because we are both running internal networks - but I do have the "external" IP of the host. What am I doing wrong? Is it something to do with Ports?

Are you both running on the same network? If so try swithing hosting computer. If not i think you may have to be on the computer with the external IP, if you understand what i mean.
