cannot reinstall,play or uninstall

I recently had some pc issues and had to do a system restore. Appearently i lost some files for civ4 in the process...the game wont load...wont reinstall from disc because of the 1.74 patch...and none of it will uninstall because of missing files. I have gone thru manually and takin out everything i can find and still the same problem.

you need to go through the Registry. I'm guessing a simple registry cleaner tool would do the trick if you dont want your hands to get dirty
(CCleaner is free and quite usefull)

you deleted the documents civ folder, the program files civ folder and ran a registry cleaner and it still cannot install?...

then I have no clue. sorry

Yep...it wont let me install without uninstalling....and get (-5004 : 0x80041f42) error when i try to uninstall.....is just really crazy

Have you tried doing a forced uninstall using the uninstall feature on Advanced System Care software?

Or get FixIt Utilities 11 and shred the file(costs $ but its woth it. saved the PC i'm on about 5 times now )
