Cannot see the figures in beyond the sword

I recently bought the CIV4 game of year addition which included Warlords and Beyond the Sword.

When playing Beyond the Sword, I have noticed now that after I have saved the game, my game characters are no longer visible. I have tried to start a new game but the characters are still not visible.

I apologise if this has been mentioned before.

Some help would be appreciated.

You may have inadvertantly pressed the bare map button above the minimap. It's the 3rd button from the left above the minimap, press it again and it should toggle the units on and off.
