cant build a wonder_ theory of evolution

I was prebuilding cathedralin my Capitol in hopes of getting a jump on TE. but when i go to switch production it wont let me switch. I was able to switch my Army production to TE in another city, but why wasn't I able to switch in my Capitol?

You probably accidentally "rushed" the cathedral by disbanding a unit. If you do that, you won't be able to build a wonder.

Did you get some shields via forest chop or disband? All wonder shields must be hand-built.

no to both, but i did have rifleman and Cav in queue also, if this is the issue then clearing the production queue should let me switch?

But you lose the shields. Somehow, either the shields are "tainted", you are building the wonder in another town, or the wonder has already been built. In this case, it could be one of the first 2 options. Sometimes a city governor will choose to build a wonder, and that can be easy to miss. Also, it can be quite easy to taint a prebuild.

i'm going to go back to an auto save and clear the queue and try again with only cathedral in queue.

You're wrong Overseer. He clearly has a "Creatinism" version of Civ III which makes it so that you can't actually build a flawed concept like "Evilution" which leads to ALL the moral decay in soceity, ALL evils in the world, all sorts of hocus-pocus and illogical thinking, and of course believing in such directly implies that one worships Satan.
