I have the Pyramids already built in this city (my main city); as well as an aqeuduct. I can build this wonder in other cities; however, I can't in my main city (note this is not because I'm building it somewhere else right now). Why not? There's no red lettering indicating I'm missing something.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I read that I can only be building one world wonder at a time; even this doens't seem to be the case since I'm building no other wonders in any of my cities.

I had same problem later in the game, where wonders were disabled in my capital without any notification. i used to think, there is a limit how many wonders are allowed in one city - but the gardens seem to be a little early, since you should have no more then two wonders in the city at this time... Maybe its a bug ?

Figured it out. It's because they can only started to be built in the classical or before era.

Actually, I believe the exact reason is that a certain tech renders the Hanging Gardens wonder obsolete, at which point you can't construct it anymore.

I've run into something similar, and it occurred to me to check and sure enough, one of the AIs constructed it without me noticing.
