Situation : human player (Spain) allies with Catherine.

Before the PA Catherine had also a defensive pact with Cyrus and
open borders with all other civs.
Now,I can't cancel her deals.

The Colosus bug also works the other way around in a PA.
This time I built it myself. After Astronomy the bonus for me
was gone, but my ally (Catherine) still has the bonus.

I'm not sure what your point about pemanent alliances is... isn't that what the word "permanent" means? This is not the same as a (temporary) defensive pact, which can be cancelled by either side. Is it a defensive pact you are referring to?

I've never embarked on a PA myself yet but I thought the idea was that you share everything with your alliance partner and pool all your joint resources into a sort of super power. As they research new techs you automatically benefit from learning them too and vice versa, you fight wars together, and ultimately you win or lose together (i.e. any win is a joint win).

Yes you automatic share everything,techs,negative/positive relation
modifiers, deals made by both civs except resources. This has to be done
via the diplomacy screen.

Let me explain the situation more precise before the PA.
Human player : defensive pact with Catherine + trade deals with
other civs,no open borders.

Catherine : defensive pact with Cyrus + open borders with all other civs.

After signing the PA all deals were included.
Now I wanted to get rid the defensive pact with Cyrus (same also
for the open borders) and there was no option to do this.

Just delare war on somebody. The defensive pact will be canceled.

If you're not planning any wars, then just leave the defensive pact where it is. It'll just make other AI's more scared to attack you. With the defensive pact in place, the other AI's are unlikely to attack Cyrus because they'll be scared of you and catherine's power.

Oh, I see now - you had to adopt all the deals SHE had with other people and now can't get out of the pact with Cyrus. Sorry to be so dense, I didn't know this sort of thing happened with PA's. Thanks for explaining. :crazyeye:

Just out of interest... how are you attempting to cancel the deals? Are you asking catherine to cancel them, or did you try to cancel them by negotiating with Cyrus yourself?

You should be able to talk to cyrus, and ask what deals you have, and then cancel them from there. You can't cancel deals for 10 turns after they first started, so it's possible this 10 turns got reset when the PA was signed.

No options are available.
Also not if you dail up the leaders.

I've just had a look at your saved game and indeed can find no way to peacefully cancel the pact with Cyrus, it doesn't show up anywhere on the diplomacy screens. It seems the only thing you can do to change this is to declare war on him - this cancels the pact for both you and Catherine but, of course, sends you both into war as well.

I don't know if this is intended behaviour but I guess the lesson to be learned here is to always check the deals between all the AI's before agreeing to a permanent alliance with one of them as you might be taking on more than you bargained for.
