Can't change file name while saving

I am wondering if anyone has had this happen to them. I try and save a game and I find that I am unable to change the name of the game. All my keyboard input gets directed to the game interface and NOT the file dialog box. When I go to type additional text into the file name the game interprets the "space" as a game command. The same happens with other keys. Is this a bug?
