Cant choose factions in crossfire

Hey i installed alpha centauri + expansion pack once again but i have some strange bug. i can only play via Quickstart, before choosing factions i get an error and the game closes down. any help? mayb sth wrong with my ini?

This problem could be the result of a corrupt installation. You could uninstall, delete any files that got left behind, then reinstall. Instead of reinstalling, you also could copy all files from a known good installation (if you have one available). Be sure to apply all patches.
