Me and my friend just bought this game yesterday (2 copies), installed it on my 2 cpu's at home to play it, and played it with no problems at all over LAN.
So we decide to try playing over the internet the next day (today). What we discovered was that my friend was able to connect to other games with no problem, as was I, but whenever we tried to join a game we were in (meaning if I joined a game and tried to join the same one, or either of us try to create and the other joins) then it just wouldn't connect!
We would always get a "Connection has timed out" message. Most odd.
Now my friend has been having connection issues in other games as well, such as Dawn of War and such (I don't have such problems). We disabled his Windows XP SP2 Firewall as well as his Norton Internet Security firewall, so we figure all that's left is his router firewall ( http://www.netgear.com/products/details/DG834GT.php ).
My friend isn't very tech-savvy, so my question to all of you is: Given this information, is it my friend's router that we should be concerned with? Or something else? (and how do we deal with it if you might happen to know
)
Thanks for reading/helping, any help is much appreciated!
