I'm trying to change the Information Era's splash screen so it actually looks like our modern times rather than the future.
I have added the new dds to my mod, w/ VFS=true, and I know my version of NewEraPopup.lua is working correctly, as I can use it change an era to any of the default ones I choose (Medieval, Atomic, etc.). I also know my dds is the correct dimensions, 923x472, since I started with one the base game uses.
I think the problem is with how I am compressing my dds file. I'm using Paint.net and have tried DXT1, DXT2, DXT3, R8G8B8, and R5G5B5. For all of them the splash screen is just empty, except for the last where it is screwed up:
I haven't used before, nor do I understand any of the other options when saving the dds:

Before I tried the remaining ones, I thought I should just ask, as I may be missing something fundamental. I've looked at JFD's great Cultural Diversity mod which using custom Era Splash Screens and everything looks the same as what I'm doing, but of course I can't tell how the dds files were compressed.
Help would be appreciated, thanks.
