Can't install BtS due to latest patch in my system?

I'm currently reinstalling Civ IV vanilla and BtS due to the infamous Python warning message. Before I uninstalled either though, I patched BtS to the latest release version. That didn't work, so I proceeded with the uninstall then reinstall. Civ IV vanilla reinstalled fine. Then I get to BtS and I get this:



Uhh.... whaaa?!?! That's impossible, I deleted my entire Firaxis folder from my HD! I also deleted the Firaxis folder registry entry (so I could reinstall the game) and I deleted the BtS folder from the "my games" folder. How then does the game know I have the latest patch?

I swear if I have to reformat my entire computer just to play some Civ IV then I'm going to Firaxis to bust some heads.

You also need to delete the BtS folders in users/<name>/My Games/ and users/<name>/Application Data/My Games if they exist (sometimes they don't).

You may find that you also need to delete

"C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{32E4F0D2-C135-475E-A841-1D59A0D22989}" as well.

NB. The InstallShield folder is hidden by default. You will need to configure Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders.
