Can't Install - Help

I was trying to install the game today. When I was supposed to put the 2nd CD in the computer froze and I had to shut down and stuff.

So I went to uninstall programs and uninstalled eveyrthing or deleted everything related to Civ 4.

Now when I put the first CD in, it gives me the options to: Play, Read Me, or Quit.

It won't let me install. It doens't give me an uninstall. When I press play nothing happens cuz I never went through the 2nd CD. This is out of control. Firaxis is gone from my comuter and all.

This is rediuclous. You buy the game and expect to play it but this is the third problem I have encountered trying to play. Uneblievable.

I have the same problem. Cannot reinstall the game. Only get play or exit option. Please help.

Just go to my computer, right click your disk drive and select open. Then double click setup.exe. It'll write over anything else you already had.

setup.exc doesnt work for me. like tate above, for some reason i deleted the game instead of uninstalling it. but the civ uninstall is still in my contol panel add remove menu. however, when i try to unistall the game on this menu, or when i click the setup.exc on the civ disc, after the pop up asking me if i want to completely remove the selected application and all its fetures, and after the civ advanced unistall options window comes up, i press next and i get a pop up saying the following error occurred on the file c documents and settings, all users, firaxis fames sid meiers civ 4...

hence, i cant seem to fully unistall the game and so the cd will not give me the option to reinstall it, only to play or exit.

i really dont want to have to reinstall my windows xp, for many reasons but the main one being that its a japanese version that was installed for me along with the drivers and all by someone who can read japanese - i live in japan.

also, i did have the game up and running very well at one time, so there really isnt any problem other than that the disc wont give me the reinstall option. it sounds to me like tate has the same problem.

someone please help us if you can.
