cant install (((

i get towards the end of install on disc 2 and get the following:
Default feature
Civ4 Component
D:\data3.cab
I/O device error

found an article online that advised might be a cdrom/dvdrom error and to change property from dma to pio only but no luck (((

really could use sum help on this. i have several other games loaded on pc, but never have had an issue loading anything.

any ideas? thanks in advance

does this also happen when you copy the disc contents to your hard drive?

just tried over coffee (cinnimon bun creamer ftw!). disc 2 get to a point where it says 20 seconds left and just stays there and looks at me. i aint the brightest bulb on the tree but would that seem to indicate a bad disc? all i did to copy it was create a dummy folder in my docs, and select copy to....sound like? thanks in advance! internet in the area is being revamped, so thought this would be the perfect game for when isp is down (

It does sound like a bad disc to me, can you try to clean? If that doesn't work I'm afraid you might as well throw the disc away.....
