can't load saved games

hi,

i bought civ4 and the two expansions yesterday, and it seems i can't load saved games. the game autusaves, and i'v saved the game myself. but when i go to the "load game" screen it doesn't show the saves i made myself, despite the fact that they are there in the folder (i look at the folder with windows and not the game) and it does show some autosaves but instead of loading them it just throws me back to the menue screen. this happenes in civ4 and in the expansions.
can anyone help?

Did you follow kiwitt's instructions (sticky thread in this forum) for installing on vista/win-7?

If not, uninstall the game.
Unfortunately that's not as easy as it could be.. You first have to do the standard uninstall via Add/Remove Programs..

Then, in order to be able to install again, you have to remove a certain registry key.

When you've done that, install again heading the advice given by kiwitt.
If you have the "complete edition", which comes pre-patched to some level, you may have to use slightly different patches. There was a thread posted here recently that explains that..

Unfortunately the above is not guaranteed to solve your problems, but it's worth a shot i think.. Best advice i could think of, gl.

I'm not running Vusta/7 i'm Running XP. but i for some reason the game will save and load on another folder (not one of the game folders). it's really weird. and my hall of fame doesn't work, but i can live with that.
