cant play online with my rocket stick!

I just got a rogers rocket stick, and it works great for surfing the web, but for some reason i can only connect to a couple games when i want to play online, and not ones my friends put up. i had no issues when i was on wifi, but now i just cant connect. it tells me that i have a connection timeout. and if i load the game, it tells my friend that there is a firewall, but i dont have one. i have an imac, running osx 10.6.6

I've had similar problems when connecting my mobile phone to my laptop for internet access, I found surfing worked fine but downloading would not.

More than likely Rogers have blocked, or interfered with certain traffic on their network to stop people using it for gaming/downloading and this is your problem

I found a way around the problem, thought id post it for anyone else having trouble. because i only want to play with people i know, direct ip would work, but it wont connect. so i installed hamachi, which allows you to creates a virtual lan. everyone you want in the game has to have it too. then you create a network, and have them use the ip address for your hamachi network to join your game.
