Can't see city names

In my or enemy cities, Instead of something saying which city it is and what it's working on or howmany people are in the city, I just see light blue bars over everything. It still works, but I can't tell which city is which without hovering over it. Help?

I also have this problem of not being able to read city names. It is very annoying.

I see these light blue boxes in two additional less annoying places that I think should have something else there: The background when behind the movie for the founding of a religion (the movie plays fine), and the box above the menu options when you press [esc]

Can anybody help? I am running it on XP with only 256 MB of RAM, but these are the only problems that I have run into.
