Can't see the beliefs of a conquered religion

I think I've found a bug in G&K and uploaded a save. If you conquer a civ with a religion, it appears that religion does not show up in beliefs or religion lists.

Specifically in the save: Greece had founded Buddhism but Buddhism is not in any lists. You can, however see it exists in several cities in the world. Basically I know nothing about what buddhism and dont appear to have a way of finding out.

This is in the latest G&K on steam with Vanilla + G&K only. WinXP DirectX 9 (dont think that matters).

Don't know if it's a bug or a design feature (if so, it's irritating), but it has been noted by many.

I confirm this. :)

I found this error just a few hours ago.
Mongol found Tengrism but it disappeared from the religion overview list after the Huns conquered Mongol.

I can confirm this behavior (I noticed it long ago) -- but it's possible that the behavior is, rather than a bug, by intentional design, on the idea of simplifying the interface by removing religions after the civ sponsoring it is conquered. That said, if so, it's a pretty bad design choice, since the information should still be available to see somewhere.

I just searched around for a while and this is all I've come up with. I'm having a great romp as England on an Archipelago; but it's really annoying having a religion run amok when there's not much I can do about it (i.e., out-pressuring the city-states I want to keep as my religion, but avoid converting in other civs -- a diplomatic victory may be in my future...).

I founded shinto and spread it to my neighbors (Russia, Vienna, and Polynesia) before they could found a religion. Spain, Sweden, and the Iriquois founded their own religions (not christianity) which I can see the holy cities for (in the "world religions" menu), yet for some reason Christianity took hold in a few clustered cities (mostly in Russia... but they aren't listed as founding any religion! and we're in 1976!). It's spreading on it's own (exerting pressure is tough on an Archipelago...), yet Christianity does not show up at all in the world religons list. Only 3 civs have lost their capitals, (two of the neighbors I converted before they could create their own, and the AI took one out -- maybe that's an issue?)

I agree with the sentiment that this should not be by design -- if a religion is still in the game, its beliefs should be listed in the religion overview, (and the holy city known, so you know where to target... Now if it gets razed...? hmm... [can't remember if it's just capitals or holy cities too you can't raze])

Edit: should mention this is G&K with all the DLC that was on sale from Steam about a month back... game's set to automatically update, so patch is recent as of this post. No mods. (though I think I changed a bit in the config file so I could get the circumnavigate achievement...)

The founder of Christianity was eliminated, but its religion carries on. For some unexplainable reason, this causes Christianity and its beliefs to be wiped from the Religion Overview. Quite irritating and we can only hope it gets fixed in BNW.
