Can't stay connected to other computer in LAN

I'm playing Civ 5 Gods and Kings with my husband on LAN. We are at turn 600 and the computers disconnect from each other and the AI takes over. We each have our own steam account and versions of the game. It did it every once in a while earlier in the game, but we just exited out and rejoined and it would fix the problem. But now, I rejoin and the next turn we disconnect again. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I don't know how to fix your problem, but have you verified the integrity of the game files in steam? That's usually a good place to start before trying anything further.
