Capitalization?

Thanks for the tip!

I didn't have to do that since the AI hasn't researched the tech it needs to build SS Components.:D

But the money did come in handy when I had to rush build Manhattan Project from scratch.

BTW, can someone please tell me why the enemy took over my city and it said -30,000 gold plundered? It happened twice, and the AI was left with 0 gold. It seems pretty stupid to me, they took over my city and lose all their money.

Other than that,I only use it when I don't want to bother with a city anymore.

This is a good tactic, cities should be watched closely to maximise....uhhh.....stuff (eg production, science)

Hell yeah, In huge games with large map, continents and large land mass, heaps of big cities (this is in one of my games) that have every building, and i have retired so i dont worry about future tech (i.e. I put science to zero and tax right up) using Capitalization has pushed my income over 10,000 a turn..

Long Live Communism!

Well since everyone else is giving their 2 cents worth, I'll give mine.

I'm playing a Prince game at the moment with a large empire of about 50 cities. I've disable spaceships so I'm going for a conquest win. One big and one small civ left now, at 1880, so I'm on track.

As a democracy, many of my cities, especially on my first continent (home continent) have maxed out, been farmed and run out of things to build. No problem. Capitalization!

My home cities are producing at least 30 shields per turn, which equates to about 400 gold per turn from my home continent alone. Add that into science at 2 turns, boosting my future tech, luxuries at 40%, I have no tax/sci/luxuries problems.

In short, Capitalisation helps me out in a big way. And it will fund my war as well, coming in at about 1k per turn. Civ2 HOF here I come!
