Anyone plays in the mode "Capture the Prince"? I've played once i my firsts conclusions is that when you kill the leader, all the civilization colapses. Well i think this is really boring because you have to bring your own settlers and colonize the entire ex-country, and it takes much more time.....
Besides, in the history many leaders of countries and empires died and those countries and empires dont fell apart just because of that.

You're thinking of Regicide, and yes, it's not a good thing to have turned on when playing a proper game. It makes it far, far too easy.

Yes the Ai doesn't know how to do in a regicide game. They just keep their leader in the capital and wait there for you to come and kill it. And when you come to nuke war an entire empire can be taken out with a nuke that hits the king.

If the King didn't remain in the Capital, and the civilization wasn't destroyed entirely, Regicide would be nice. I would like that the cities become yours once the King is dead, as it is in the real world. That would make some nice quicker games :)

I dunno, I have mixed feelings on that one. Yes, Regicide is terrible with the AI, however, if the AI actually did know how to use the king unit, it could just stick in on a boat surrounded by thirty or so battleships and shuffle it off to an obscure corner of the map.

If you are playing mass regicide do anyone know if the AI keeps all seven kings in the capital. Or do they actually think and use them to explore. I've never tried it out myself but i would suspect the first

I think the best thing I like about regicide is that even though its easy to destroy a civ quick by killing its king, the real difficult part is actually claiming the land that has suddenly become free. Unless you are careful and have settlers, the AI will come in fast and claim most of it when using the "I kill your king in the capitol and ignore the other cities' strategy.

On emperor level at least, I still think regicide is balanced because most of the time it is easier to take one city at a time just to make sure you claim the land yourself. Regicide just adds another possible strategy. Although I do agree the AI is particularly bad at even moving their king out of their city when you are attacking, even if they have a clear path to get him out.

I like this idea!

It'd make the Regicide seem more like a Victory. I have felt they seemed rather hollow sometimes, but then I've never played Regicide MP games in a short time limit -- I might appreciate it more then. ;)

They don't use them to explore, which makes it a little too easy for the human player to capture goody huts and get a good tech lead. But they do place them around in their seven strongest cities.
