My question is those 'GP points' spread amongst various categories ,are they the same in total than say the number I'd get doing a campus research project or more (overall) .
So lazy.

The Carnival Project provides +1 additionalAmenity while developed, allowing
Amenities from Luxury Resources to be given out to other cities that may need them more. The Carnival Project earns
Great Engineer,
Great Merchant,
Great Writer,
Great Artist, and
Great Musician points upon completion. The
Great Writer,
Great Artist, and
Great Musician points given are the same as if one had gained them through Theater Square Performances; and
Great Engineer and
Great Merchant points are half as much given if one had gained them through Industrial Zone Projects or Commercial Hub Investments. This makes it completely eclipse the Theater Square project, which becomes redundant for anything other than gaining
Culture.
I also played a game last week as I have been analysing great artists.Because of this thread I played a game with Brazil that lasted more than a few turns.
You can place specifics on a tier move, they are more fiddly with city district planning and adjacency to get their better value and the 20% is not exactly Kongo's 50% and the lack of a decent UU combined with an OK at best carnival just drags them down too much to be S and while you think hey, this is a powerful combo, they should be A... I can get that with Norway also so realistically there are an awful lot of better civs out there and Brazil is on that nearly great level that puts them high end B IMOOn a side note from my experience Brazil needs to be moved up to A and maybe S tier at least if they get Apadana and Machu Pichu as I did
No nocking your great post at all, just trying to say that sometimes we have a great game that places beer goggles on our eyes.
The street carnival is quite subtle, I do not feel quite as bad about it as you do .
ike the units just magically appear and upgrade
Well according to the developers VI is supposed to have removed that magic, I guess they just ,meant for the major civs...you sure the last capital was a VI one?You just described the entire Ai. Like how the Ai being down to their last city which is a 1 population and in the past 20 turns was returned to them via revolt and they are still outproducing your capital.

LOL right they removed the magic. That is laughable.
Scenario: Khmer has 3 cities. I took their southern city, but it revolted in 3 turns. I moved North and took their capital about 15 turns later. They offered me ~ 22 GPT and ~ 300 gold. I refused and then took their other city 3 turns later. They offered me the same amount of gold plus a little more. I checked to see how much gold they had and they were offering me everything they had ! 650 gold. I moved South on the city I had taken previously which they had gotten back about 10 turns prior from it revolting and reverting back to them. I put 2 scouts on it plus the one warrior I had that was at full health while my other warriors healed. Suddenly they had a heavy chariot. I checked their gold. They still had ~ 650 gold so they must have produced it in 10 turns which is faster than I could produce one with my size 5 capital that had improved tiles. I got my other warriors to the city and it took about 6 turns to capture the last city. In that time they produced another heavy chariot and still had around 700 gold. I am sure the game is set up to have a set amount of production in the Ai's cities based on the year and size with the capital having a set production based on their year regardless of size.
If you have a save of the log directory over that time you will likely find trade going on... in fact it is so common one would consider it inhuman!.
he other day I destroyed Shakas only horseman and pillaged his only horses.... but turn after turn he produced horses.... yes 3 separate civs sold them to him and I had no outstanding grievances.
