Catapults — what I am doing wrong?

ahhhh i love lethal bombardment.. except when its used against you of course...
but defro a combination of arty and bombers are more useful

Now I'm all for arty and bombers, but you're forgetting the best bombarding weapon in the game: ICBMS

BUT it does take a very long time to get ICBMS and I usally don't use them anyways :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Artillery is especially good at repelling enemy fleets from your coasts. If you have railroads, you can roll your arty wherever needed in a second and damage those pesky ironclads that keep trying to destroy your improvements. It doesn't sink them, but the AI always brings them back home when they have less than 50% HP. Gives you breathing time.

I have noticed the AI almost never attacks with an unit which has lost even one HP. So if your are surrounded by many foes, just shoot at them once, take them away at least one HP and you can sleep peacefully. Next turn they will withdraw. Unless you are shooting from an undefended city

BTW, does anybody know a trick to shoot with all stockpilled artys at once? I usually have 50+ artys attacking a city. It takes sometimes several minuts to choose a single unit, press "b", aim, shoot and wait for the result. Key combination with "j" doesnt work.

What does auto-bombard do? I've never tried it
When you give the command to auto bombard the unit will automatically bombard the chosen tile until nothing is left to destroy.

For some reason autobombard doesn't always work on cities (at least for artillary, cannons, and catapults).
