What IDIOT told you any of this?
The straw that broke the camel's back seems to have been some people (me included) questioning whether all work that various contributors want to do on units should be postponed in favor of Tbird's unit review. His argument was that he's already put a ton of work into it, however (as I countered) it doesn't seem to have moved in years and neither does there seem to be any movement coming soon. I argued that development should be prioritized based on when it will be implemented and how much it would improve the mod when it is, and not based on the work previously put in - basically, better to make smaller adjustments that actually happen than wait for a rework that isn't coming for years more - and referred to the sunk cost fallacy. He denied that this was a fallacy in the first place, and after the resulting discussion (which I was
not personally involved in, I will add), he decided to leave.
Also, a while ago he suddenly came with a somewhat weird initiative about making a website and I don't know what all his plans were, but it felt like a whole lot of buzzwords and very little actual content. He got a lot of pushback over that on the discord, with pretty much everyone feeling that the focus should not be on some grand vision of the future that seemed unrealistic to achieve in the first place, but rather on more down-to-earth changes to improve the mod and get it into a better spot before focusing on bigger projects. I think this felt like a major cold shower to Tbird as well.
EDIT: I decided to look up the precise announcement, I'll screenshot it all. No context left out and no misrepresentation unlike the person a few posts earlier, just letting everyone decide for themselves.
Do note that, except for weighing in on discussions, this is the first contribution (if you want to call it that) from Tbird to the mod since at least January 2024, which is when I myself joined the discord server.

These people celebrate their success of bullying a core member into leaving. They even claim
@Thunderbrd didn't contribute anything. The Combat Mod alone was a bigger contribution than anything these two discord clowns ever achieved.
Okay this is just disingenuous and manipulative, and you should feel ashamed of yourself.
You can clearly see that Murdermesa is regretful about Tbird leaving, and I can confirm the same is true for most if not all other members of the server, even if we had our disagreements here and there.
As for Flabbert,
he was not talking about Tbird at all, but rather about the user DukeWinchester, who had a habit of being abrasive and provocative for the sake of it. I disagreed with Flabbert's decision to kick him (rather than seeing if he behaves better with more moderation, as Tbird was the main driver behind the extremely loose moderation the server had), which is what we were arguing about here, but none of that was related to Tbird at all, and in most places, Duke would have likely ran into a banhammer far earlier.
