First of all, I should say that if the moderators consider this thread a piracy one, please fell confortable to avoid it to publish in forun. I will understand if you decide that.

I play Civ since Civ1 in the early 90's, I enjoy too much. Right now I am 31 years old and I allways have a C3C game rolling.

For me, the biggest problem in this game is require running from a CD ROM drive. You could imagine the decrease of lifetime of the CD ROM drives you should expecte while you are 4 or 5 hours every day flashing the drive for read and play?
It is the 3rd CD ROM I had to replace I believe because C3C.

My question:
Does anyone knows a way to run the C3C from the hard disk?
My advice:
Never install/play a C3C game from a CR Writer or the money you spend will be much higher.

Thanks in advance for your comments:

The only way you can do it is by getting a no-cd patch. For most games (if you own them) the developers do not mind you using the no-cd patches, but with Civ they do. So if you were to download and install one of these, it would be illegal. Hence, I can not give you a link to where you could get one.
I have no problems using these patches, as I know that I own the game. I'm sure you do too, but just incase anyone dodgey is reading, I can't say ;)
Sorry aboot that, and yeah the thread will probably be closed.

I've had my Civ CD for about 4 years now and play almost every day, My CD is in fine shape. When you take the CD out I always put it in a jewel case or CD envelope and put it away. It should last me forever. If your CD's are getting trashed it sounds like you aren't careful with it

@Sabo

Read better my thread.
My C3C CD is fine. I was talkin' about the CD ROM drive, the reading unit not the readable.
Thanks anyway for the comment.
