I'm playing a team game at the moment, and I'm wishing there were a feature where you could draw borders so that you don't overtake land you want your teammate to have. So for instance:

citygrid.jpg

Here A is my city and B is my teammates. My city has more culture so it gets the disputed land (striped). It would be good if I could draw fixed borders so that my culture doesn't absorb my teammates land. One nice thing that's already in the game though: a quick test I ran in worldbuilder shows your teammate always retains the 8 squares immediately around their city regardless of how much culture you have.

Alternatively, the game could allow citys to use squares that are in their city cross but within their teammates cultural borders (as long as they're currently unused).

For your name, should it have a b before 'oob'?

Just joking!

Yes that would be a good feature. I sometimes get caught in war becuase my friends have too little culture.

Yeah, i find this annyoing too!

i thought you were after f11>show strategy layer> draw borders :P

good idea, even more important in Multiplayer.. (i'd go so far to nearly entirely dissect the Border from culture (cultural influence isnt important later on, and it could stop this annoying stuff when attacking a neighbour results in his neighbour getting all the land and you getting useless cities.. city flips should stay possible, only the real border would be frozen, and changed only by politics/war/claiming by units/forts/..))=>make it possible to get politically defined borders and allow tile trading (your suggestion)
