Civ4 uses version DirectX that has not even been released yet by Microsoft. And Microsoft is not particularly known for testing their products thoroughly. So I am not sure what Cedega is supposed to emulate as it stands now. Perhaps they will have to wait at least until MS releases DirectX update

The Cedega team has done a good job of recreating a number of Windows API's including DirectX 9 interfaces - I'm sure they'd have little trouble if they knew what the Civ team was trying to accomplish...
It can only be beneficial to both companies - the Civ team can tap Cedega for their DirectX expertise and Cedega get another game on their list.
Nah, CIv4 doesn't work with DX 9.0c. They install their own version of DirectX, which is also labelled 9.0c, but I believe it comes from one of the recent development kits.
I wish they would. I really don't understand how they come to this situation. Why TBS game needs DirectX which hasn't even been released yet? Besides, some developers say DirectX is not very good when a lot of active objects is involved. I wonder if Firaxis has looked on any proven games in a similar genres.
