Does anyone play cEvo?

cEvo is a GNU (Open Source) clone of Civ2, I think.

I have played it. It looks like Civ2, and the interface is very different to WinCiv, MacCiv, or Civ3.

So, does anyone have it and what do you think?

I've tried it, but I didn't like it much. The terrain is too ugly.

Can't we change the terrain? There's lots of customisation gurus on this site.

I wasn't too keen on the AI, but there are lots of 3rd party AI you can drop into the game.

The point is that it's open source, meaning a group of customisers could do much more than they can in Civ2/Civ3.

What you have to note is that the C-Evo has been created by a tiny group of people (mostly one person). It has had less time invested in it than GOTM!! What it is now, is not what it has the potential to become...

Looks pretty good. Civ3 looks better (I have it), but it looks good. May try it.

I just gave it a try. Very good, IMHO. Setting the specs for new military units is neat.

I prefer Civ though.
