CG12 - Colonization!

It doesn't look like much has been happening since I've been gone. I'll rather excited about this game and would like to keep things rolling. What is the status of the game and who is up next?
 
Since I am up in another SG, I will give the bringer of bacon another 24 hours to check in and play. If we don't hear from him, I will play my turns.
 
Just downloaded the save and will get started on my turns tonight.

Everything looks good so far. I will send the settler (due in 3) from London to colonize the incense and iron to our north.
IT – Barb horse approaches our scout near the Ottomans.

Move scout back onto the galley to avoid the barb horse. We meet the Germans and trade Alphabet for all of their gold (10g).

Send spearman to build spot near the iron in preparation for the settler. Expose more of the German lands.
IT – London: settler -> spearman.

T3) 1475 bc
Send settler to spot north of the iron. Trade CB and Alphabet to the Vikings for HR. Sue for peace with Spain and get Writing and Barcelona from them. Change research to Lit.
IT – We have completed the road to horses.

Nothing much. Change Barcelona to warrior (we need a body in there).

Moving galleys.

Try a suicide run with a galley to relieve boredom. Manage Nottingham to prevent riots.

IT – York; spearman -> worker. Russians are building the Colossus.

Give writing and CB to Ottomans for Math and 25g. Give Alphabet to China for Myst. We are pulling well ahead of the rest in the tech race.

Change scientist at Barcelona to citizen and set science slider to 10%. I see Seattle east of the Mongols. Sending galley in that direction.
IT – Nottingham: granary -> settler. Ottomans have completed the Colossus. Vikings and Germans are building the Pyramids.

Moving galley towards Americans. Sending worker to road upper part of the island.
IT – nothing

Not much going on.
IT – Seville: spearman -> galley.

After a long negotiation we decide on Currency for HBR+Mysticism+270gold. Maybe its smart, and maybe its not

T12:We buy COL+1 gold from China for Contact with Russia
I sell Bismarck contact with Russia for 26gold (all he has)

IBT: ARG Nottingham riots. I havent downloaded little smileys yet and i mixed the happy with the content. Damn eyes. Lux up to 20% Seville completes Settler, start Temple. Hastings completes

T17: We sign a peace treaty with the Mongols, we even get 12 gold. Vikings now have MapMaking. Our research on it is due in 5 turns so i dont trade it. We find the Celts! I trade them contact with Arabia for the ALPHABET. I contact Arabia and sell them Alphabet for 15 gold. The only way to keep Nottingham from Rioting is rasing the luxtax to 50%. I hire a clown and set the luxtax to 10%. Newcastle founded, start Temple.

IBT: Mongols demand Contact with the Celts. I refuse, and its war again. London completes Granary starts worker. Hastings complete Barracks starts Spear. Warwick builds worker starts Temple.

Welcome back Volum. I hope your trip was enjoyable. Good set of turns. With our contacts, we can control the tech pace of our rivals for a few more turns and really build up a solid lead. I'm glad to see this game resurrected.
 
Looks like a good set of turns, except for one thing:

Never trade with the AIs when it is their turn, wait till it comes back to us. He might have traded currency around to others in the same round, making it cheaper for us. I think most others had Mysticism and HB, but if not, he would be able to trade it around instead of us.
 
Just saw that CG is on vacation for 3 weeks in the skips thread, will play it tomorrow. To late to grab it tonight.

Sorry about the delay but RL got in the way this weekend. With a death in the family I haven't had time to get to the game. I will finish my turns ASAP and get the results posted.
