CG12 - Colonization!

I haven't been able to sit down at my computer for more than 2 minutes in the last week or so. With a death in my family, it looks like this next week will be busy as well. I have no problem waiting for CGannon to come back from holiday to resume play. Hopefully my schedule will be more conducive to gaming.

I see we don’t have our iron hooked up yet. As most of the workers on the island are off on other projects, I will use the worker in the north to connect it. It appears we have tech parity with the leading civs. I see we are at war with the Mongols and they want contact with the Arabs and some gold to settle things. I, of course, refuse. We have plenty of gold but a weak military.
IT – Nottingham: temple -> marketplace.

T1) 330 bc
Start roading iron. I have no idea where the spear/settler pair in the galley were going but decided to send them to the northern Chinese island.
IT – Hastings: spear -> warrior. Our settler/ spear galley was lost.

T2) 310 bc
Not much. Turn sci slider down to 50% to make some gold.
IT – We have literature. I start researching construction (due in 17 turns @ -1gpt).

T3) 290 bc
Workers working (starting to pair them up to finish jobs quicker). Galleys are exploring.
IT – Hastings: warrior -> warrior. Warwick: temple -> spear. A Mongolian galley appears out of the fog north of Barcelona (change production to spearman).

T4) 270 bc
Continue exploring with galleys.
IT – Mongols drop off a horse north of Newcastle.

T5) 250 bc
I will have trust in the RNG and leave the production of Newcastle as temple rather than try to get another unit in there. Trade around WM for 83g and WM’s.
IT – Our vet spear takes 1 damage and redlines horse (horse retreats). Hastings: warrior -> warrior. Iron is connected.

T6) 230 bc
Moving warriors to Hastings for upgrade. Upgrade one warrior.
IT – Two Russians (settler/warrior) land on the point north of Hastings and our new swords (bad timing boys).

T7) 210 bc
Upgrade 3 more warriors to swords. I think the Russians are planning on building on that point of land.
IT – Barcelona: spear -> barracks. Cantebury: barracks -> spear. Warwick: spear -> spear. Vikings are building the Great Wall.

T8) 190 bc
Upgrade another warrior (we have 5 now).
IT – Spanish boarder patrol (spear/archer) appears.

T9) 170 bc
Not much of interest.
IT – Newcastle: temple -> warrior. Our last galley war lost at sea. Another Mongolian ship approaches.

T10) 150 bc
Nothing.

Looking at the map, we need more land. I would suggest the Spanish and Russians as targets due to their proximity to us. We now are able to build swords so we should be able to wrest a few cities from them to increase our empire. We also need galleys. We should keep a few galleys around our island to facilitate the movement of our troops throughout our empire. Good luck to the next player.

here is the save

Well, I'm back, but I am in no shape to play an SG. School is starting soon, I have to read the summer reading books I left to the end (I read lots of books for fun) and overall I'll have less free time this year.

I'm still going to follow this and whatever other live SGs I have!

I'm going to assume that this game is officially dead. There have not been any posts for a week and minimal participation before that. PM me if this game is resurrected.
