Here is a game you might find enjoyable. My lanun is the most advanced civ, but the Luchirup a huge empire and summoned Basium The Lanun have a foothold in the continent but are bogged down by large amounts of golems and muskets and are just trying to hold their ground. Can you pull out a victory?
I do not have the time for this but those of you who like large-scale late game warfare this is for you. Settings are Emporer, Big and Small, Standard, Agg Ai, Living World.

 Thanks Xienwolf!
Of course, if anyone out there plays this, I would be grateful if you would post and tell me all you did.

Tried to give it a shot, but I'm getting an error message loading the game:

"Load Failed, Failed to Uncompress Data"

It looks like a normal civIV save, so no idea what's wrong.

Hmm, does someone more knowlagable about me know what the problem is?
I save my games in my Beyond the Sword folder and when I open them it tell me the game will have to restart to load FFH. I say yes and it loads the game.

Load OK with 030f. Played up to turn 402.
Interesting to see the game of someone other.

Some notes. Invading army is weaker then yours so it is no problem to beat them in defence and then go take their cities.

North stack (which is already hurt) can be easily destroyed in the same turn with sacrificing cannons and treants and then move to Basium army. Khazak is captured at turn 400. Main strike force (you know) are war chariots (perfect against their archery gunfighters), Phalanxs and heroes. Among invaders most dangerous are two basium heralds which need few units to sacrifice. Basium himself was already half-dead and no problem.

You know about slaves? They can rush any building (and wonder) in 1 turn for very low price. Slave cost 10 gold and give 15 hammers. Maybe exploit. So I made 100% commerce, rush Gambling houses where they were not built but in a few turns turn still switched to Despotism. 16 war weariness is too much.

Urgently bought 2 more stonewardens: for life-II - cure plagued units and spiritual hammer - +1 str for Druids.

Switched research to Guilds. Nexus is nice but raise production is more urgent IMO. With Guild of hammers and unlimited engineers you really have much, much more hammers then with Arete. Still did not get the result. :) Will switch after the war both from Arete and Despotism. If I will play further. Had several crashes and reboots. :(

What is bad - with killing Basium AC=37 at turn 402. Plague is coming but you have very few workers. BTW why you do not use pirate coves? They are VERY powerful now.

And where is Sandalphon? You don't use "Require complete kills" option so he must have at least 1 city. No? Not found. :(

About plauge- I have very, very, few farms so I figured I could just buy a pile pf slaves wherever I have destroyed resoures, so my opponents would be hurt more than me. I had no idea slaves could rush production. That would have been way overpowered if I had been using it the whole time. I tried to build more pirate coves but I couldn't for some reason. Do they require native workers?
I hope you succeed!
Oh, btw, I have no idea what is with the shades. It is very strange. I know they don't have a palace because they have no mana, but I din't know how they are alive.

Yes. I forgot about slaves. :mischief:

That's it.

I think yes. I was unable to build a cove with captured goblin workers. I've just reported a bug on coves: they can be built next to each other.

Spoiler :

I feel that is all. Up to now Luchuirp lost northern half of their country, Basium and Barnaxus are killed. Our :D army is big and overpromoted. Sometimes enemy units come from the south but not much. With Despotism+Nationhood+Ddungeons I can wage war as long as I like. 50% science gives good research rate. So, it is not interesting any more.

Occasionally after reading your post (before download was enabled) I started random game on Big-and-small, normal, Emperor and surprisingly got very similar situation: I am Lanun-Thessa and my strongest opponent is Beeri Bawl of the Order. :crazyeye: Though I use OO but have no incense. Now it is 319, I am building, he is conquering neighbours and the war will start sooner or later. I have 3 fire mana and building Hemah. If you like I will post a save.
