Change private MP game to public?

A friend and I started our first MP game and we set it private becuase we thought other players would be too clever for us noobs. (I'm not too bad now, actually. I'm getting good at it.) But it turns out the AI in MP does suck, as many posters on this forum have noted. So we'd like to open up the game to other players.

Is there any way to turn a private game already in progress into a public game? Let me know ASAP because we play Sundays at 8:30PM ET, which is in less than an hour!

No one else has said anything, and I don't know the answer for certain. But everything else about Civ 5 seems to be that options cannot be changed once a game has started. So my guess is 99%+ certain you can't do what you want

Actually, I believe that when you load a save game, you have the option of hosting it private or public. Try it out, I've never tried switching but it might work. Good luck!

Hah, when loading a MP game it doesn't seem to give you the option. Many times I've seen some random people joining a game they shouldn't. And most of them have been ill-witted and keep on rejoining even after getting kicked.

8:30PM ET translates to ... GMT-5. Seven hour time difference, so it'd be 3:30am my time. Sorry no luck.
