Proposal to a change of the Fanatican Constitution

Whereas the security of our beloved nation was breached aggregiously, the following security measures are to be in effect:

Any citizen will be given access to the forum pages. Such access implies Confidential Security Clearance.

In order to obtain the copies of saves, the password code, or be privy to future battle plans, a citizen must submit the information required by the CFC moderator. This constitutes Secret Security Clearance. At the time of this writing requested information included name, email address, IP adresses, etc, so that these could be checked against global databases to ensure that such citizens were not participants in other MSDG teams.

All government officials must have Top Secret Security Clearance, which means, that they give the moderators direct permission to immediately run the above check, thus ensuring that they are not a spies, since this would be too detrimental to the CFC team, whether they were spying for us or against us.

This is a private vote (no one will see your vote) and will close in 3 days.

I vote "no" since this gives the moderator(we might not always be as lucky to have Rik) the power to change the requested information.

Something I am not comfortable with. If the requested information is limited to what it is now, I would change my vote.

EDIT : I also do not like the idea that no longer will battle plans be posted on the forums. Seem peculiar to me.

@Goonie: I agree with you, in principle. I wish that we could post all of our future plans here. It just seems unwise until the security of those plans are secure. It is one thing for a 'spy' to see our layout (something that any cheater could obtain through other nefarious means anyways)... It is something else entirely to give away our future plans.

Until we know that the 26 or so people who have signed on as citizens but have not responded (so I am told) to Rik's requests for IP addresses, etc. have been checked out, they could be members of another team.

It would be unwise, to say the least, to show our battle plans to those who might be our enemies.

Ultimately, every citizen of Fanatica would have a Secret or Top Secret security clearance and this portion of the Constitution would be a formality at most.

I hate more codes, clearances and security. I voted no. But will follow the majority vote.

Would it be possible to make a sub forum that would only allow access to those in the roll call thread?

First of all, we better develop some plans we can hold secret...

A secret sub-forum to an already secure sub-forum? :crazyeye:

Well ya... Its obvious...Either "fix" the security issue or create a new measure of security.

We shouldn't be excluding good citizens just because some jerk infiltrated this forum. He has effectively hampered our ability to plan, prepare, and execute any course of action.

Now we can live with this liablity, implement additional security, or subject citizens not elected to government positions to mere spectators.

Of these 3 options I find the second to be the best compromise.

And If a citizen is worried about giving out his email to other persons on this forum......Make an email address just for this forum. (There are plenty of free email providers available)

MM, I think he already did , this is long out-debated...

magnus, I thought the smileys would have indicated the comical nature of my post.

I thought they were ironically ment and that the post was 100% serious :/

And the security thingy is fine with me.

Damn expressionless internet!

When will the new Military man, give us some information regarding his plans?

Well...by my calculations...this is now an official ammendment

I don't like the ideas of the plans being secrit. We can create additional security, even purge the membership down to only active leves, but I do NOT want posting restrictions. This is the place for us to play the game to its fullest. If this location is no longer safe then it should be moved elsewhere or we should withdraw from the game.

We will post all plays here...we are not posting future things for a while... that's all. And...as I mentioned...mostly...this ammendment will become irrelevant very soon, I hope. :)

rcoutme, unfortunately, your ammendement never clearly states that discussion can be taken away from the forums. It simply talks about some "Security clearance."

You will kill participation in this game if you keep your god damn secrets secret. Most importantly you will get defeated next election.

PS: PROVO, your PM box was full. Check your email.
