Changing Capital?

Has your capital ever changed positions? Mine did the other day, and I don't know how it happened. Is this some kind of a bug. I don't think it is, but I was just wondering.

Did you build a palace in another city, or was your original capital seized by an enemy?

I don't think I built a palace in that city, but I may have without noticing. That could be it. Thanks.
