Character generator

I was thinking they ought to have a character generator like RPGs have. With decoupling the leader and civilization in this iteration of the game it seems viable. With RPGs you're sometimes able to choose origin stories or such that gives particular bonuses. That's all there seems to be to the leader when a player selects it. The only real artwork is the character in the diplomacy screens, banner emblems, color schemes and such. It wouldn't seem to matter much in single player, but in multiplayer it could make it more interesting.

I was reading a thread on why no male black leaders. Someone pointed out all the racial and ethnic subgroups and are you going to have a massive number of leaders. Personally, it's only marginally historic, but their choices do provide a shoutout. So why not as many as you have players? The only problem I would see is potential conflict on names. The distinction between player and AI should resolve much of that, but in multiplayer it could create confusion whether someone is playing a base or custom leader. Reserving names wouldn't really work since new leaders get released. I don't play multiplayer so don't really know if that's a potential problem.
