Can anyone tell me what is the most reactive non-metal?

I thinks its flourine, but I'm not sure.

You thinks right.

The most reactive non-metal group is Group 17 in the Periodic Table - the Halogens. In that group, the most reactive is at the top of the table. The element at the top of that group is indeed Flourine.

I'm never coming round to either of your houses for tea and cakes if you're going to use flourine in them.

Yeah, F- is also the one i recall. you can watch in the redox (reduction/ oxidant) table.

F2(g) + 2e- <=> 2F- stand. el. pot. +2,87.

On top of the list as biggest oxidator.

In other words, F- is very stable over F2(g)

Any idea what the most toxic element to humans is? That is, what quantity could kill all humans, if distributed evenly to everyone and given some time to do it's work?

starlifter...you could kill people with less if you didn't insist on giving even doses to everybody...

Some freak will drive everybodies dose up!

a suggestion is the toxins produced by the E.Huxley blooms would be a candidate...only require a few grams (ain't an element).

My elemental suggestion is mercury for the fun value...trun everyone as made as hatters and see how they get themselves killed!

It would be cool....

Cianide is good. It works on the nerve system. dead in a few seconds. I think they use it in the USA to execute prisoners. If you put tablets of Kalium cianide in water, the extremely toxicating cianide comes free in the form of gas:

KCN(solid) + H20(liquid) <=> K+(desolved) + CN-(desolved) + H20(liquid)

Because of the much energy and heat that comes free with desolving the KCN (>100 degrees Celcius or 373 K), much of the desolved CN- vapourizes (like putting water on a hot furnature) and you breath in the toxic CN- that has become a vapour.

Any idea what the most toxic element to humans is?

I believe plutonium requires you to ingest only a small percentage of a gram before it kills you. Not sure if there is worse out there though.

Now let's illustrate this in home!

No, it would be dangerous...
Lets illustrate this in subway!
