Chicagoans, give up hope

To the OP: You live in Chicago, but you're a Packers fan? Such a thing cannot be. It's like a Yankees fan here in Boston.

And there is always one in every group. And they always seem to show up when the Yankees are winning, just in time to rub it in. :crazyeye:

Just 4 more hours til I get my copy! ;)

Picked up my pre order at EB Games on Elston South of Diversey, had mine in at 1pm. Good hunting all.
I went there to snag a copy, but they won't have have it until sometime tomorrow unless you had it reserved.

I went to a GameStop on Canal Street over my lunch break. I called them before I left and asked: "Do you guys have Civ IV in stock?" Answer: "Yes." Reply: "Awesome! I'll be there to buy it soon."

Twenty minutes later, after schmoozing my girlfriend to come pick me up and drive me over there, we arrive at the store. I walk inside, ask for a copy, and was informed that they only had pre-orders. I went nuts on the two kids working there. Feel kinda of bad about it now, but I can't believe the kid didn't tell me that on the phone.

Anyways, I went to the Best Buy up on North Ave. and they had about 10-15 copies sitting out on their gaming computer station. So I have my copy...now I just need to sit through another three hours of work...

About time! I just called EB and they have it in stock. Now I just have to wait about another 3 hours for my wife to pick it up after work and then I get to find out that I am one of the people who can't run the game for some unkown reason! Can't Wait!

If any other Chicagoans without pre-orders are still looking, I just got off the phone with a saleperson at the Electronics Boutique at Lincolnwood Town Center and they have them on the shelves. That's like 3300 W. Touhy, so not all that far if you're on the further end of the north side. No dice at any of the CompUSA's, BestBuy's, or Gamestops I checked, and EBGames is still pre-order only.

My wife just picked up the game and is on her way home. I guess mine was the only special edition, best of all it came with a tech tree in English. Kind of sad that, that is even a concern. Now it's time to cross my fingers and hope that it runs (I have a Nvidia so it should be okay...)

I just joined yesterday and am looking forward to all the cool things i can see\discuss here...

Here's hoping for Civ 5!!!!! ;)

Who ever thought school cood last so long....
But Ill have my copy when I get home!

I just picked up my pre-order copy at the EB on Clyborn and Webster and as I was paying for it, they sold the last non-preordered game to some guy that rollerbladed across town to get it before anyone else! That's dedication!!

I think this is sold out everywhere in Chicago. I went to EB and they were out so I hit up the nearby Best Buy. I had them look it up on the computer and it showed none in stock for any nearby stores.

I knew I should have gone over my lunch break.

Check the Gamestop website (click on the game and then enter your zip code for store availability.)

There were several stores that had copies listed but I made an online order (no tax + no shipping & made it in time for the bonus version) so I didn't go out myself.

Btw, I was doing this for Chicago (60605) at around 11AM CST yesterday.
