Actually Qin Shi Huangdi is just his title. His name was Ying Zheng.
Qin Pronounced Chin is the name of the dynasty.
Shi meaning First.
Huangdi meaning Emperor.
Qin Shi Huangdi means "Qin's First Emperor"
Shi Huangdi means "First Emperor"
neither are names, both are titles.
chinese normally just address him as:
Qin Shi Huang which means "Qin's First King".
it doesn't mean we don't see him as "Emperor"; it is a short form so you don't have to said 4 letters everytime. if you mention his complete name for a few times in the history lesson can make the class very very borring...
