Hello All,

Simple wonky strat a friend and I built with China.

China allows you to use a Builder to complete 15% of a wonder production cost at the city center. In addition Chinese Builders have 4 charges off the bat not 3. So Early on - do the necessary techs and BO and get three districts up for the boost to Mathematics.

Then build a settler and two builders. Find a HUGE swath of crap desert with some river or freshwater nearby with one floodplains patch. The yields will suck but usiing the two Builders - use 6 charges and complete Petra. Then buff the city with the remaining two charges building appropriate farms, plantations, etc.

Then work on Pyramids - Feel free to get a Builder with two charges left and complete it. Realize that the city will be greatly buffed.

Lastly finish cover the Petra City with improvements. Worst case: build continuous Great Wall segments on flat empty desert. With Castles and masonry the yields of a continuous great wall segment desert with Petra is 2 food, 1 production, 1 culture, 3 gold and 4 defense for any unit.

Also you get 7 charge builders now with the Serfdom card! :)

Enjoy!! I'll post a snapshot this week.

I did that once. Only used builders to rush the pyramids, then used the extra charges and free builder and extra charges to rush Petra. More efficient that way.

That sounds like a great strategy. China seems to be able to go for Petra a lot easier than other civs because they're the only civ that can reliably produce early wonders quickly outside of the capital. Nice job.
