Some of the Israeli government's strongest support has come from Christian Fundamentalists. These "Christian Zionists"argue that every act taken by Israel is orchestrated by God, and should be condoned and supported.

While there's nothing wrong with supporting the Israeli gov't, (depending on your political views) it's important to note the reason for this support. These Christian Zionists believe that Jews should have control of all Palestine so that they can rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. This will bring about the events that lead to a battle between the Antichrist's forces and Christians, called Armageddon. This battle will result in the end of the world and the second coming of Christ.

To me, it seems very wrong to support a government for the express purpose of bringing about the end of the world. Israelis, how do you view this support? Are you okay with it? To persons of other nationalities: It it wrong to support a government because you believe it will cause the end of the world?

Yes, it is wrong. On the other hand, I think Israel should have control of Palestine, now. Today, I have made my decision on that. I was leaning towards it before. The Israelis should have all of their homeland (I am not saying kick out all the Palestinians, though). Armageddan has nothing to do with it, and thank God it doesn't.

Yes! If I would believe, that a certain goverment would bring the end of the world and would it support because of that. I would need to slap myself.

But really, that's not the basis of sound ..... anything. I don't know, if this is going too far now, but it's just not sober, to let politics be guided by "bible-interpretation". And this is a very vague bible interpretation. And it's the dam 21st century. god dam it.

Ooops, what if they interpret, that Las Vegas is like Sodom and has to be cleaned from the earth ?

Except that it's not possible.
If the palestinians in the whole of ancient Istreal are treated as full citizens, it's no longer a Jewish state.
If they are not, it's apartheid.
The only workanle long-term solutions are a Palestinian state or the expulsion of Palestinian population. Guess what I think of the second, or of a support for Israel based on a literal interpretation of the Bible, with the aim of bringing the end of the world to top it all.

Many Chrisitans believe Israel should be jewish. Some groups are obviously very nice. For example: A group of Christians who built a community in Israel and are (or atleast were. Don't know what will happen with it after gulf war 2) manufacuring air purification machines to be installed in shleters which are being solld at production costs.
Other groups are supporting Israel because they believe it'll end the world....
Ofcource I have no interest in ending the world. But as an Israeli, I have a clear instinct to get support. So the goverment enjoy's their support, and since it's god's job no one in the goverment is working to destroy any part of the world outside Israel ;)

i don't understand why the palistinains and the jews can't just live together with out killing each other. im not going say anything else, lest i go on a tyraid and then ill be all cross and irratable for the rest of the evening...

Wait, who are these people?

Do they have a website we can enjoy?

It sounds like they're the polar opposite of the Eric Rudolph type Christians, who refer to the Federal Government as the ZOG, or Zionist Occupation Government :crazyeye:

There are a lot of people with weird political views out there (and in here). I wouldn't get too worried about them.

There's a gigantic billboard from one of these groups "CHRISTIANS FOR ISRAEL", right outside my town. They're supposedly based in one of the southern states of the USA.

We mostly find it odd, but hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth

Oh I could guarntee you they're based in one of those southern states ;)

Another question for the Israelis out there (or anyone else who wants to answer):

These groups such as the "Christians for Israel" count among their advocates evangelists Jerry Fallwell and Pat Robertson, both of whom are notorious as$holes. Does it bother you to have people like this supporting you?

Err...what? I sure would like it if Israel and Palestine came to peace, I only get riled up when people act like Palestine had done nothing wrong and Israel is the evil white Judeo-Christian oppresor. Both sides have done things that shouldn't have been done. And as for Armageddon, it will come when it comes. I don't see any use in trying to speed up the process by what a certain interpretation of the Book of Revelations says.

There will be no peace, unfortunately. These attacks will keep coming. This peace won't be well inplanted, too many questions. And it is hard to say who is right or wrong. If there were no attacks, I would say the palestinians have a point, but having so many terrorist attacks take away their reason. This situation of letting go to see what happens will keep going until the desert freezes over!

wow, gj Greadius. That sight reads like a Rev. Jack Van Impe infomercial. Love the extreme-slant news stories interspersed with articles for Direct TV (take the plunge! $129.95)

BTW, all donations for ChristiansForIsrael go to a PO box in Wash, DC.

I'm a hardcore protestant southern baptist regular churchgoer, and I do not support Israel. Jews are a race as well as a religion, so do they technically hate Palestinians for both their religion and race? I believe either is wrong. I think Israel was created after WWII as somewhat of an apology to the world Jewish community, and we promise that facists will no longer threaten world peace. But a lot of what goes on in Israel is certainly fascist in nature...

I say give the Pals back their land. Making the losers pay for their mistake only makes things worse, like how WWII came from WWI's treaty of versailles. Except this time buses get blown up by fanatics.

I won't comment on the Christians that support Israel. Revelations shouldn't be taken literally at all.

Interesting, and fair enough. As for me, I am a supporter of the Christian Kingdom of Jerusalem. Go Templars! :yeah:

We don't know who are the people in there and we really don't care. Such groups don't require as$holes to be considered as wierdos by both Israelis and Americans. So we just enjoy the fact we get support in all of our actions without having to do anything for them :D

I just can imagine this for the introduction of a console RPG.
"We have to save the world from the Evil Cult ! If their schemes happens, all will be destroyed !"

Darkshade's Templars thing reminds me that it is probably time for another crusade, they've been thin on the ground of late, and it would be a good way to winnow down our western populations. Methinks another Children's Crusade would be an excellent kick-off.
