Here is the current build queues for Province of Berry.

Deux Rivières: Spearman[4]->Settler(6)->Temple(12)
Vandelay: Warrior[2]->Settler(15)
Vo Mimbre: Spearman[10]->Temple(30)

I am starting a discussion for future build queues once the current ones listed here are finished.

We are soon to found a city and I would like to take the opertunity to post up a suggested queue for the city I am hoping to be mayor of :).

Groton: Warrior -> Warrior -> Worker

Edit: Changed City Name

I support continuing on the build path outlined above.

Well, this is my proposal to my boss plexus.

Deux Rivières: (Once Temple is finished) Granary -> Settler
Vandelay: (Once Settler is finished) Granary ->Worker
Vo Mimbre: (Once Temple is finished) Granary -> Worker
Mara Jadeville: Warrior -> Warrior -> Worker -> Spearmen

I know we disagree on this one, but I am generally opposed to building granaries.

I doubt we need a temple in the capitol now. We need settlers and I think we'll have wines connected and within our borders soon. I think the temple should wait.

I dont know whats the fear and opposition of building granaries. If we are going to be expanding and making workers quickly, granaries are the only way to go since they cut the growth time in half.

Why build a temple when wines and dyes may be coming online soon? Even if you don't build the ganary (which I want a granary), build settlers.

While I am a great advocate for a Granary in Deux Rivières, I do not necessarily believe we should build Granaries everywhere. We need to concentrate on building them in high growth, high production cities that can produce Settlers quickly.

Vandelay can potentially have a high growth (all on floodplains) but would then not have the necessary production to produce Settlers quickly enough, mining the plains would increase production, but slow growth. Vandelay may therefore be better for producing workers as 2 Workers (losing 2 population) can be produced with 20 shields compared with 30 for a Settler (also losing 2 population). It may benefit from a Granary (I haven’t done the calcs), but not to the same extent as Deux Rivières.

Vo Mimbre has slow growth, but will have reasonable production as it gets larger. It may be better for building military units and hence would probably benefit from a Barracks rather than a Granary.

Well, We should build Granaries where we want Settler/worker factories.

I think the Governor has made wise decisions for this Build Queue. We need the Culture and Happiness Temples can bring, we need Settlers, and we only need military units sparingly.

Hmm, don't see that one on the map... ;)

Granaries could actually hurt us at present because population might quickly exceed the capacity of the available luxuries to keep them happy.

Our iron city will need to import extra military for defense, so that nearby AI's don't consider it a ripe fruit. It will need to build a temple immediately in order to expand and get the iron within range. Also the workers currently on road crew need to improve the iron city before returning home, so the plan should include worker replenishment.

One rule of thumb objective would be to double our number of cities before 1000BC, or 8 cities by that point in time counting the one about to be founded. To do so we need 4 settlers (120 shields) and 4 spearmen (80 shields) for a total of 200 by that time. What's our national production per turn?

Granaries would not actualy hurt us so long as they are built where we want settler/worker factiories. Do we realy want the Babs or the Russians starting to settle in our backyards? We should build a granary in cities where we desginated as Settler/Worker factiories and THAT city will only get a granary.

It makes sense to build grenary --> settler -- > settler or worker in Deux rivere or another city. 'cos we need cities to grab the grassland near the iron. And i certainly don't want barbs or russians to settle on the derset behind us.

If Mara Jadeville is going to be the city that will be by the iron on the yellow spot, it will need a temple at some point to expand it's borders over the iron.

But that city is in Province X. ;)

Important Message

Mara Jadeville has now been changed to Groton

Vo Mimbre is currently producing three shields per turn. After recruiting a spearman it should start on another settler. Getting the wines and dyes hooked up would do more for happiness than a temple would. Once we get our initial cities founded then we can build temples and such.
