Ok guys and gals we have the ability to build some wonders.

The options are:

The Colossus
Cities that can build it: Morgana, Valhalla, and Penguin

Great Lighthouse
Same as above

Great Wall
The rest of the cities

The question is do we want to buoild any of these. Debate away here

We should build the The Colossus so that we can create more commerce to help with our funds and also would help with the funding of the Science Department :).

I second that. Also, i recap most others build the wall, but almost noone builds the colossus.

But it also depends on in which city we want to build it. Which opportunties do we have in which cities? Could you write the cities where we can build the wonders behind each wonder? Maybe with the turncount?

I agree with building the colossus. The lack of barbarians and our large military makes the Great Wall unnecessary, and the pangaea type map makes the Great Lighthouse pretty unimportant.

Colossus, Great wall is useless except for those cities where we build walls (I rarely do)

@dis: thanks for mentioning i forgot the cities. they have been added to my first post

Morgana is a perfict sight to build the The Colossus. Due to Morgana's High production and the proximity near the mountans makes Morgana an excelent sight.

this is for wonders not tile optimization, thatw hat the build queues thread is for :)

Valhalla does have mines around it it would also be a good site to in a cheaper wonder since Grasslands can only provide as much shields as it can make. Morgana on the other hand can build a more expensive wonder due to its close proximity to hills and mountans.
The city of Penguin is too new and the shields oupput is not adiquate enough to build a wonder.

Fionn, Thanks for pointing that out :).

Oh, Sorry for the misunderstanding :).

As the Morgan Mayor, I would love to have the Colossus built in Morgana. It has very high production since it was built on iron, and can be increased by mining the surrounding moutians and hills.

The Coluossus in any city would be excellent for it's commerical value. The Great Wall, not so much, since we haven't really been affected by Barbs much. Also, the Lighthouse isn't much, since we won't be doing that much seafaring.

I would suggest that we build none of these wonders. The Lighthouse and Wall are not particularly useful wonders in our situation, and I do not think we have any coastal cities in which to build the colossus that would give us a sufficient return compared to the cost of building it. I think we should keep our cities geared toward preparation for our next war (which includes the infrastructure needed to keep our cities happy and productive and our conquests from flipping).

However, the capture of wonders does not allow us to hve their immense cultural benefit. Remember: a city is no good to us if it flips. A major factor in flipping is the overall culture of the nation it belongs to, and the potential recivier of the flipped city. We must build some wonders on our own to keep our cultural strength up.

Lets see: Valhalla- taking out of settler mode will kill us.
Morgana: Military Mode: a must
Penguin: corruption, too small, my home.
Unfortunatly, it looks like we may not be able to do any of these. IMHO, we should go towards Monarchy with a GL and grab the gardens.

Thanks for upholding Culture for me Octavian! :D

I agree that we need to increase our cultural status, or our captured cities will flip away from us. Not a serious concern at this early age when no one has much culture, but the further behind the curve we fall, the harder it will be to show any cultural "muscle".

I agree that we may need to skip the collosus. Since intend to do lots of waring, we may want to prebuild a wonder in anticipation for the hanging gardens, that is a wonder we need to grab, in addition to the sistine chaple. Also, leonardo's would be nice as we're going to have a large army, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

My vote's for holding back and pre-building for the hanging gardens, as SAAM suggested.

It would be great to build any of these but we have to deal with the Japanese and Americans first. Of course if we did happen to get a great leader in the next war, I wouldn't mind rushing the Great Wall if it's still available. :)

Although I think you're all correct in that the Collossus would be our best and most fruitful Wonder at this point, I would not attempt to build any of them.

In the area of Great Wonders, I would concentrate on those that give us the ability to remain productive. I am speaking, of course, of ones with happiness benefits. These are needed Wonders as content cities are productive cities. But I don't believe we should build them, I believe we should only use our Great Leaders on them. This was one of the main reasons I liked the Heroic Epic plan. We can't waste our time building them and capturing them doesn't give us any culture, so GL's is our best option. And Great Wonders such as the Hanging Gardens and the Sistine Chapel are our best targets. IMHO.
