Hello Civ 6 Fans,

On your citizen screen you will see tiles with slots which has 0/2 on it. I understand that would mean that two citizens can work that tile...Farm or Mine? Can someone elaborate more on this feature or the pro and cons of this. What benefits are you gaining or not gaining.

Thanks

Each building on a district (campus, commerce hub, etc.) provides a specialist slot that citizens work for special yields (science, culture, etc.). This allows players to further prioritize specific yields beyond what districts/buildings provide themselves.

The yield for specialist slots is relatively low compared to what improved tiles can provide in civ 6, thus many players will choose to work mines, farms, plantation, etc instead.

Since specialists provide specific yields and no food, you will find cities with specialists much harder to grow without high food yielding tiles.
If your looking to stagnate or slow the growth of a city, placing specialists will help in that regard.
