Probably you need to research Bronze Working in order to get the option to cut down Jungles. If Citrus is located on Jungle, you need to remove the Jungle before you can build a plantation (if you choose the Build Plantation option, this will be two-step proces where first step is removing the Jungle). So try to research Bronze Working and see if that helps you.

I wish they would just list all reasons you couldn't do something on a hex when you moused over it (e.g. flatland forests would show Removing the Forest will require Mining tech), not just techs needed to work the resources. Sometimes I think it would be cool too to show what bonuses would be added to a hex in its current state (e.g. A freshwater farm would show +1 food with Civil Service). And make the extra info an option so everyone wouldn't have to see all that spam on mouseover if they didn't want. I always remember Civil Service and Fertilizer, but sometimes I forget the other bonuses like from Chemistry and such. Might be nice to do the same with buildings that get bonuses from techs/policies too (e.g. Walls would show +1 happiness with the tech in Honor)

All depends on what kind of game you are playing. I like to build my capital on a resource rivered hill by one mountain if possible. I think I got that twice ever and have played a lot o CiV
It has bonus food and gold. Most luxury resources only add gold to the tile before they are improved, citrus also gives food. Most of the other good ones have been mentioned already in the thread.

Maybe because that is usually the reason. Beats being gullible and always thinking; wow, this must be some kind of feature.

It's a reasonable suspicion. The game has its share of bugs.

The fact you haven't deleted it yet long after it's expiration date almost seems to say you're proud to have 'LOSER' tatooed on your forehead by another player... true? Just curious... I'd have deleted it completely the second the six months was up.
