So this is what we have all come to?
Now we can't even agree on city names. It is amazing...
I am happy that none of this has spilled into a judicial or PI issue....lets keep it that way
On point though, and having been to Japan myself on about twenty different occasions, I can testify to the reality that Geisha is not considered a negative term by those who coined the phrase, nor does it mean what western "culture" implies it to be.
On the other hand, a Geisha would hardly qualify as the western definition of a liberated woman either, so I could understand some objection from that point of view.
There is no German word for geisha I am aware of, other than "geisha", so I don't know the best answer, but i do know that it is Cyc's honor to name the city, so unless he wishes to change, it will need to be done in other ways (via moderator action, or by a sitting governor in the first week of office, but remember that we have not established a history of changing citizen named cities)
