City State/Independent People Questions

First off, some complaints about the UI regarding them: why do I have to click on my leader to get to the independent people list? Why are there IP on there I don't remember meeting (is it because on of the other civs I've met have met them)? Why can't I click on them from that list to bring them to me on the map?

But on to my main question: once you have converted a IP to a city state and you are it's suzerain, is that it? Can another civ snag the suzerianship away from me? Or vice versa? I thought that was the case, but it doesn't appear to be?

Yes once suzerain it's your's . You also can't liberate these guy's so if the AI atacks them and conqueres them you can either take the city or raze it if you capture it seems bugged in my opinion

Wild guess, but their units may have peeked out of FoW for a moment, which counts as you "noticing" them - but you most likely didn't, because they all look the same unless you hover over them to see the tooltip (and then good luck figuring out which IP the tribe name belongs to, out of the database of 100+ IP names). But I don't think you can actually interact with them until you reveal their city tile.

The tooltip gives the IP's village name, not their people name, so it's the same as in the list in the Leader screen.
