Civ 1 for windows-where to buy

A file S_NUKE.WA$ (on the 4th floppy) has gone bad on my and I can not reinstall the game.

My PC had crashed and I have to reinstall everything.

Any idea where to buy the Windows version that came out in 1993? Or can anyone send me this file. Thanks a lot.

Since the missing file is a .wav (a sound effect), just pick another .wav file that you DO have, and make a copy. Rename the copy to the one you are missing. The obvious side effect is that when that sound effect is required, it will sound wrong. Other than that, this should solve your problem.

Ayatola, you can get Civ 1 for Windows for "free" if you buy the October 2001 edition of Computer Games magazine (that includes a CD). The cover story is "10 years of Civilization" and the CD contains the complete windows version of Civ 1 for Windows.
