civ 2 gold = tot?

if i have civ 2 gold multiplayer edition, can i install mods for test of time? or is test of time a totally different thing? i haven't seen it in stores...

As far as I know they are completely different. IIRC, you can play MPG games on TOT, but not the other way around.
